Audit by the SAI of Colombia on the toll fee freeze

Summary
The SAI of Colombia warns that the government may need to pay 1 trillion colombian pesos (222 million USD) due to the freeze on toll fees if a +4.64% adjustment is not promptly approved. The revenue shortfall caused by the freeze is being compensated by the state, including through tax contributions. The SAI calls on the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of the Environment, the National Infrastructure Agency (ANI), and concessionaires to take measures to fulfill the obligations under concession contracts to prevent a significant reduction in toll revenue. Otherwise, this situation may lead to the early termination of some of the 11 active private road concession agreements, the SAI notes.
