Summary
BCG published an AI Matrix, which shows that most economies are not well prepared for AI-driven change. The matrix provides a comprehensive overview of AI adoption in 73 countries, focusing on two key areas: o The vulnerability of an economy to AI-driven change (job displacement and industry-wide productivity gains). o The readiness of an economy to address AI-driven risks while harnessing its potential to drive growth. According to the report, there are six sectors that are most vulnerable to AI-driven change: information and communications, high-tech goods, retail, financial services, government services, and transportation. A cumulative analysis of AI impact and readiness reveals six groups of AI adopters: 1. Pioneers. 2. Stable challengers. 3. Rising challengers. 4. Incremental practitioners. 5. Risk-prone practitioners. 6. AI Emerging Countries The report proposes a set of initiatives for each archetype across three themes: o Enabling AI: Building the foundational elements for new AI o Accelerating AI adoption o Amplifying AI: Driving the global AI agenda for AI pioneers
