Progress in human development has slowed to its lowest level in 35 years, according to a new UN report. Amid rising public debt, growing trade protectionism, and accelerated digitalization, global inequality is deepening. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is identified as an innovative technology with the potential to reshape the trajectory of global development. The report’s authors emphasize the need to transition to a new model of human–AI interaction — the Human–AI Complementarity Economy. This approach advocates for deploying AI in sectors where its positive potential can be harnessed to boost productivity and promote economic diversification. At the same time, the development of human capital and the protection of decent working conditions must remain a priority and an integral part of AI design and implementation.
