Summary
According to a WEF survey, 72% of experts expect global economic growth to slow in 2025–2026. The reasons lie in a combination of financial and political risks and the unpredictable consequences of technological change. On the one hand, geopolitical tensions and the fragmentation of world trade are driving up the cost of external borrowing and increasing debt burdens, constraining fiscal space and halting previously planned projects. On the other hand, the adoption of artificial intelligence is transforming markets and heightening the risk of a digital divide.
