Summary
The World Economic Forum (WEF) notes that having domestic artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities is becoming a key factor of long-term competitiveness; however, AI sovereignty does not imply technological isolation. According to the WEF, by 2030 AI’s contribution to the global economy will exceed USD 15 trillion, and more than 60% of companies already use AI in core processes, intensifying competition for data, computing power, and talent. The Forum recommends focusing investments on priority areas based on national comparative advantages and addressing technological gaps through partnerships rather than duplicating costs. As a result, AI resilience should be built on a model of strategic interdependence that combines domestic investment with international cooperation.
