Summary

SAI Peru audited the implementation of an urban mobility project in Paucarpata (Arequipa region) with a budget of 14 million Peruvian soles (4 million USD). The project which includes road paving, installation of cobblestones on sidewalks, landscaping of flowerbeds, as well as the construction of sidewalks and ramps for access by disabled was planned to be completed by May 2026. However, according to the auditors' assessments, the work is behind the schedule. Moreover, the audit showed a lack of up-to-date information in the Public Works Information System (INFOBRAS) which limits access to information and monitoring of the works by relevant authorities and citizens. The SAI recommended adopting appropriate preventive and corrective measures.
