Summary
SAI Indonesia conducted an audit of the regional banking sector's performance and identified a number of significant deficiencies in the operations of 25 regional development banks and two rural credit banks. SAI recommended that regional development bank directors effectively diversify their funding sources to avoid dependence on individual large clients. SAI also recommended that regional development bank directors apply prudential principles when approving loans or restructuring them, and take loan resolution measures in accordance with applicable regulations.
