Summary

As a part of the food security audit, SAI Indonesia commended the Ministry of National Planning for its performance in monitoring and assessing food availability and affordability in 2023-2025. The auditors also conducted a follow-up audit of the implementation of recommendations resulting from the 2024 audits and noted that most of them were fully implemented by the Ministry of National Planning. SAI also commended the development of planning functions through a specialized application for the development, management and monitoring of the implementation of the National Medium-Term Development Plan 2025-2029 (Rencana Pembangunan Jangka Menengah Nasional). Furthermore, the auditors noted the effectiveness of information technology support through the Integrated Digital Monitoring for Agriculture and Irrigation system. SAI identified opportunities for greater harmonization of Indonesia's food security policy measures, integration of interdepartmental planning and improvement of the monitoring and evaluation system. Auditors also recommended improving regulations and optimizing the use of information systems as the basis for a comprehensive approach to implementing food security policy.
